Open and cosmopolitan, Biarritz is one of the most prestigious seaside resorts on the Atlantic coast and one of the most welcoming cities in France that has preserved its identity!

The first day at school

On the Monday of their arrival in the center of France Langue Biarritz, the juniors will be welcomed by a member of staff who will give them a welcome pack (welcome letter, certificate of schooling, sheet of educational needs, class schedules, levels of course, center plan, staff chart, practical information sheets, city map).

An information meeting is organized by the team during which the center or animation manager will present the general organization of the school and courses with schedules and levels, cultural and sports activities and rules of life at school and with the family.

At the end of this meeting, a visit of the school will allow the juniors to find their bearings. To facilitate autonomy in the city of Biarritz and to participate in the first discovery of the region, a visit of the city will be organized every first Monday in the afternoon by the staff.


French lessons: 20 lessons / week

Course organization

French classes are held in the mornings, on Mondays from 10:10am to 12:30pm and from Tuesday to Friday from 9:00am to 12:30pm (20 minutes break).
The juniors are divided into groups of levels of up to 14 learners. The written and oral tests are done before arrival. However, if France Langue Biarritz did not receive the written tests or the oral tests upstream, the juniors will pass them on the first day of classes.

The educational objectives

The objective of the course is to improve their oral and written communication, strengthen their vocabulary and grammar points, develop their knowledge of French culture and civilization, and express themselves fluently and fluently in different situations. .

During their courses, the teachers will address the four areas of competence of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference), namely: oral expression and comprehension and written expression and comprehension.
The content developed has an action-oriented approach with various activities created in line with the audience and the level of the groups, thus promoting oral expression while laying the foundations of the written word.

The teaching team will animate attractive, pleasant and enjoyable lessons through playful educational activities, such as group or pair activities in their class, and interactions with other level groups during pedagogical aspects events related to the life of the school.

Sports activities - 4 sessions / week

Surf lessons

A swim test will be held on Monday morning at 8:30 am at the beach of "Port Vieux". All participants in the junior programme in Biarritz must know how to swim.

Surf lessons will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays afternoons for 1h30. Schedules may vary depending on the tides and weather conditions. In case of bad conditions that would make surfing impossible, canceled sessions will be postponed by the provider.

During the surf lessons, the young students will be divided into groups of 8 maximum with a surf instructor graduated from a State Patent of surfing instructor or a BPJEPS mention: surf (Professional Certificate of the Youth, of the Popular Education and Sport).

The teachers will address a theme on this sport during class time to facilitate the understanding of surf lessons and to address local sporting events.

The practice of surfing will allow juniors to communicate and exchange on a common interest and share in French and will participate in group dynamics, cohesion and solidarity.


For the ones wishing to try different types of sports, we offer the multi-activity option that allows you to vary the pleasures.

On the programme, 4 sport sessions per week: climbing, rafting, hiking, sea kayaking, golf, surfing ... The programme changes every day and every week.

Each activity is supervised by a qualified professional or a member of the France Langue team.
Activities are in small groups of 8 to 12 students

Social programme

The Junior Program of France Langue Biarritz has a programme of activities in addition to the sport sessions:

- A convenient city tour on the Monday of arrival for new students
- One cultural visit per week (half-day excursion on Wednesday afternoon and / or a full day on Saturday in Bayonne, Saint Jean de Luz, Biarritz, Hendaye)
- Every other day, social activities, fun and sports to allow the juniors to practice French together (football, beach volley, quiz, photo contest, treasure hunt ...)
- Evenings to promote exchanges: 1 evening a week on Friday (evening on the beach, bowling, cinema ...). Other nights are free or family.

Full board accommodation with a host family

The families are carefully selected. Our host families are all located in Biarritz, Anglet or Bayonne (maximum 45 minutes by bus from the school).

Homestay accommodation meets legal standards. There are between 2 and 4 juniors per family, of similar age and of different nationalities in order to promote the sharing of interests and communication in French.

The rooms are equipped with the necessary comfort: a single or double bed, a storage space, a workspace, a window, artificial lighting. This is established and verified during the visits of each family upstream of the arrival of the juniors and during courtesy visits during the stay.

Bed linen is provided by the family and is changed weekly. It is individual and clean when the junior arrives.

Households are insured by families for the entire dwelling; however, the juniors will be asked to participate to the cleaning of their room.

Meals: Breakfasts, dinners and Sunday lunch are taken in host families. Packed lunches are available for weekday lunches and excursions. Special diets can be taken into account if the school is informed at the time of booking.

Practical information



In order to avoid any intrusion into our center of France Langue Biarritz, a nominative document with a photo will be given to them on the first day of their arrival on the site. To find out where each minor is, France Langue Biarritz collects the presences of the students.

As soon as the supervising team notices an absence, it will call the host families to know the reason and to take the necessary actions related to the reason.
Juniors arriving late will have to justify it to the center manager and will be sanctioned beyond three repeated delays.

The school also requests a medical certificate or signed statement from parents for each junior (medical history and recommendations).

Exit permissions

The juniors are allowed to go out at night with the condition that France Langue Biarritz has received the authorization of the parents or the legal representative before the arrival of the minor. From Monday to Thursday, they must be back in their host family by 11pm. On Fridays, Saturdays and the eves of public holidays, they are allowed to go out until 00:30am.

Students under 15 years old are not allowed to go out at night.

The standards of supervision

- One teacher in charge of 14 juniors maximum per group
- A leader in charge of 12 juniors maximum per group on excursion
- A bathing supervisor and a supervisor in charge of 8 juniors max during activities in the water.
- A director for 100 students and a deputy for every 50 additional minors.
A weekly schedule is set up as well as the control of the number of minors accommodated.

Emergency number

A unique emergency number will be set up. If there is a problem with non-attendance at school, host families and / or young people can join any member of the team at any time. Permanences will be provided each evening and weekend by a member of the team. Everyone will be able to dial this number in case of medical problems, non-compliance with the rules of life or people, etc.


Juniors can go to school by foot or by bus. All the practical information will be given to you before the beginning of the lessons. The host families will also be there to advise and guide the juniors. Tickets are not included in the programme (around 12€ per week).


As soon as the minor arrives, they are taken care of by the host family who receives them during their stay, or by a member of the French team, either at the airport or at the Biarritz-Anglet-Bayonne station. Langue Biarritz, who will take them to the home of the host family.
Transfers take place for arrivals on Sundays and departures on Saturdays (except in exceptional cases).

The details of the trip must be confirmed 15 days before the arrival of the student (place and time of arrival, flight number ...)
